Grigore Popescu’s religious paintings

Their tall and slim figures got me thinking of El Grecco’s paintings, but their faces identically thin reminded me of the features of the Orthodox saints’ ascetic life. But what characterizes these countenances is the unity of their ascetic features with the feelings expressed by them.
